2024 Grant Recipients
We are were proud to be able to support these impactful Sound Shore organizations in 2024. Thanks to the continued community support, we were able to award a total of $50,000. Please enjoy reading about our grantees and the projects each grant is supporting.
Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle:
To purchase materials and tools for their Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Program toolkits to be used at clubhouses and school-based sites in New Rochelle, Larchmont, and Mamaroneck.
The Carver Center, Port Chester:
To fund the Carver Market, their self-choice pantry offering families and individuals facing food insecurity with a dignified shopping experience with fresh and healthy food options.
The Community Resource Center, Mamaroneck:
To support the expansion and enhancement of their “Building Our Futures Program,” which focuses on initiatives aimed at raising standards for domestic workers in the Sound Shore area of Westchester County.
Furniture Sharehouse, West Harrison:
To furnish the homes of five female-headed households with children from the JLWOS service area and ensure they have warm and comfortable places to sleep, eat, and gather together with their families.
Helping Hands for the Homeless & Hungry, Rye:
To provide sanitary products to women who live in shelters, crowded apartments, and those recently released from incarceration.
LMC Media, Mamaroneck:
To fund their animation education program in which college or high school students work together with elementary school educators in the Mamaroneck and Rye Neck school districts to create videos that complement curriculum lessons.
New Rochelle Youth Bureau:
To expand their “Mommy and Me” program launched in 2023 (with pilot funding from JLWOS), which offers a supportive space for mothers and children to connect, learn, and grow together.
Sharing Shelf, Port Chester:
To fund their Teen Boutique Period Kits program, which provides a 3-month supply of pads to each girl and menstruating individual that they serve through their Clothing Bank and at our Teen Boutique program
Songcatchers, New Rochelle:
To provide affordable individual and small group instrumental lessons for children ages 7-13 who might not otherwise be able to access such lessons.
STEER for Student Athletes, Port Chester:
To support mentoring and onboarding of student athletes participating in their program in Port Chester. The organization provides individual mentorship, services, and financial support for student athletes to help them develop college and career readiness skills and empower them academically, socially, and emotionally.
STEM Alliance, Larchmont:
To fund the instructional swim component of their Co-Op Summer Enrichment Program for children in Mamaroneck.
The Westchester Children’s Museum, Rye:
To inaugurate their “Westchester Wednesdays” program, a monthly educational program at the Museum that provides the opportunity for community and social service partner organizations to connect with families in the Sound Shore area.
Trifecta Steppers, New Rochelle:
To support youth dues for talented individuals to be able participate in its competitive step dance program. The funds will be used to purchase competition uniforms and practice gear, competition fees, travel expenses, and acquire showcase materials.
